Centre Ollie Lawrence had the perfect start to his Worcester Warriors career as he dived over the try line just five minutes into his first-team debut.

Born in Birmingham, Ollie made his Warriors debut in an Anglo-Welsh Cup clash against Sale Sharks in November 2017 with his performance catching the eye of team-mate and wing Bryce Heem.

“Ollie is going to be a player to watch out for in the future,” Heem said. “He has shown a lot of promise in the A-League games and his first Anglo-Welsh Cup game too.”

The centre was soon called up for England U20s in the Six Nations and had his first taste of action at that level in a 24-17 defeat to Scotland at Myreside in 2018.

Ollie is no stranger to the England jersey, though, having represented England at U16 and U18 levels just a few years after picking up the sport as a 12-year-old at school.

He went on to be captain of Bromsgrove School first XV and was part of the Warriors academy set up from U15s level.

His father, Michael, played for Moseley first XV with Ollie saying: “He was always teaching me new things in regard to rugby and showing me how to improve in each aspect.”

Away from rugby, Ollie is a Chelsea football fan and also enjoys playing cricket while his favourite TV programme is Smallville.
