Profile

Bianca, in her own words is “northern, small and loud”, attributes rewarded by the captaincy of the England U20 team. Hull-born, she was also part of the Great Britain squad for the Sevens University World Championships in 2014, having discovered her love of the game when seven in a school tag festival. Her granddad used to play rugby league for Hull and Hull KR.

She said: “I saw the enjoyment he always got from playing and realised that when I was at Hartpury College I could make a career out of rugby.” Bianca was the Players’ Player of the Year at Worcester in 2013/14, captained the University of Gloucestershire team where she studied for a degree in sports coaching. Her favourite things are bacon butties and Coronation Street and she supports the Heidi’s Heroes, a Cheltenham-based charity. She won her tenth cap and her fifth off the bench for Amber Reed against Italy at Stadio Gino Pistoni in mid-February last year. Her maiden try in that game from a vivid attack took her side into a 16-point lead on the way to a 33-24 victory and she went on to appear in every match in the 2016 tournament. Bianca ran half the length of the field for a second-half touchdown in the opening game in the Rugby Super Series against Canada in July 2016 and enjoyed a run of playing in seven of England’s eight Tests around that time. She returned to the international arena after a seven-month gap when playing off the bench against Italy at Twickenham Stoop this February.
