Heather is one of life’s achievers. She may suffer from severe alopecia but not only has she secured a full-time England contract but Heather was also a World Cup winner in 2014. She has also represented Great Britain in bobsleigh – competing in Junior Championships, the British Championship and on the European circuit.
Educated at Kington School, Warwickshire College, Bath College and University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, she is now studying for a Masters in Strength & Conditioning at the University of Gloucestershire. Heather, who is from Birmingham, has worked on behalf of the Youth Sport Trust as a Sky Sports Athlete Mentor as well as being involved with Cheadle Hulme School as their athlete mentor, looking after the scholarship programme. Heather said: “My proudest moment was winning my first cap in 2009.”
She was chosen in the 12-strong British Women’s sevens squad for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, assisting Team GB to their fourth place finish. Heather has scored four tries in her three tournament appearances at Dubai, Sydney and Kitakyushu in this season’s World Series. She has run in 24 tries in 13 events overall.
