Profile

With over 400 international career points to her name, Katy is one of the squad’s more experienced names.

After leading England to World Cup victory in 2014, she was awarded an MBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for Services to Rugby from The Princess Royal.

The Darlington Mowden Park Sharks No. 10 combined rugby with her job as a primary school teacher at Bexhill Academy in Sunderland before taking up a full-time contract with England Sevens. She was chosen in the 12-strong British Women’s Sevens squad for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and contributed 17 points from a try and six conversions during the global event.

On her return to 15-a-side rugby she was a key member of the 2017 Grand Slam winning and Rugby World Cup final reaching sides as she closes in on a century of caps.

Born in South Shields, Katy originally played for Westoe RFC and Novocastrians.
