Laura first got involved in rugby with the Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat U15 team, a relatively late start but since then she’s accelerated through the rankings. She missed the 2010 World Cup before collecting her first cap against USA the following year in the Nations Cup. Next up was becoming a 2014 World Cup winner. She started against Samoa, came off from the bench against Spain and Canada in the pool stages then Ireland and Canada once again in the final. Laura was in the run-on side for the Red Roses in all four Tests last autumn, including three in the Old Mutual Wealth Series and then played in four of the five matches along the way to the Grand Slam in the 2017 Six Nations. She scored the second of England’s five tries when winning her 60th cap in the final game against Ireland at Donnybrook.
Born in Awali, Bahrein and educated at Colston’s and the University of Birmingham, Laura works as a lifeguard and also has a BSc in Zoology. Her youth rugby clubs were Hereford and Greyhound and her music tastes are most things but not hard rock or classical. ‘Finding Nemo’ is her favourite film while Home and Away heads her TV watching list. When it comes to football, Manchester United are tops for Laura.
