Sasha missed the 2014 World Cup through a serious knee injury that ruled her out for more than a year. Even so, she has won many honours in rugby but her first senior England caps rank highest in her list of achievements. She said: “I was called into the England Senior squad for the Autumn Internationals in 2013. My first cap was an amazing experience, as it was at Twickenham against France."
All this happened after she was called in to the U20 team when only 17. London-born Sasha also represented West Suffolk Vikings at skiing in her early teens and was a talented runner at 200m and 400m distances. She added: “As soon as I got injured pre-World Cup, I immediately did my coaching certificates and was given the chance to manage the Bristol Ladies squads.”
