From a festival of rugby on the pitch to a feast of food off it, this weekend's HSBC London Sevens has it all.
Twickenham will play host to the season finale of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens 20-21 May and here is preview of things to look out for over the weekend.
TIMINGS - SET YOUR ALARM
The West Fan Village will be open at 9am - 7pm on both days
The first kick-off on Saturday and Sunday will be at 09:30am. The full set of Saturday fixtures will be live on Monday (15th May) morning from 10am.
There will be no re-entry on both the Saturday and Sunday so please ensure you don’t leave anything behind.
FOOD & DRINK - LEAVE SOME ROOM
Don't worry if you miss breakfast as there will be more than 40 food trucks and stalls selling delicious gourmet street food from across the globe all weekend. Make sure you check them out in the West Fan Village and across the stadium.
- Bars will be serving alcohol and will be open from 12pm.
- However, between 3pm-5pm service will be at the discretion of Twickenham Stadium - remember to drink responsibly - we don't want you to miss any of the action.
- Please do not bring alcohol with you as you will not be allowed to take this into the stadium with it.
TICKETS - HURRY THERE'S SOME LEFT
There are tickets available for both Saturday and Sunday at Twickenham. Buy them, here.
Capacity at both days is at 50,000 with an allocation of 5,000 to our local community.
This year sees some the continuing of the successful food festival theme, after some great feedback from last season’s event we’ve brought back some of our favourites and introduced some new ones for people to try.
We’re also delighted to welcome our first ever chef ambassador in the form of Neil Rankin, the ground breaking chef and owner of Temper. Check out a recent session with England Sevens players where he taught them some butchery skills and how to cook one of Temper’s signature dishes.
Come along to the HSBC Feast of Rugby in the West Fan Village to sample some of the incredible food and entertainment that’s on offer, all alongside the world-class rugby sevens that will be taking place on-pitch. There will also be live music, interviews with players, on-stage games, inflatables for the kids and picnic areas.
Remember that fancy dress is not banned at this year’s event, it just isn’t promoted as part of this year’s theme.
TRANSPORT - GETTING TO HQ & HOME
- A shuttle but service will be in place from Richmond to Twickenham with 10 buses running throughout the day
- South West Trains will be running an enhanced service on the Saturday and Sunday.
- Please not however that if you’re travelling by car that a section of the M3 from junction 2 to 3 will be closed over the weekend. Please look out for diversions or make alternative plans.
