Tom May's three to watch - England v Argentina
- England play Argentina on Saturday night
- Find out who made Eddie Jones' side
- Tom May won two caps for England
Argentina is a great place to tour, a place full of really passionate rugby fans, where the atmosphere is on par with that of a football crowd.
But England must be careful not to underestimate Los Pumas, as they are a genuine threat and have turned over top opposition. They have established themselves as a team to be wary of, and England will have a tough test.
Ellis Genge - loosehead prop
"Genge has an opportunity to establish himself more as an England player.
"Upfront against Argentina and especially at set-piece, you have to be on your game. Argentina have broadened their game a lot over the years, but certainly upfront is where they are strongest. "He has a lot to offer..."
"Genge has had a good season with Leicester Tigers, and I think if he can replicate those domestic performances on this tour, he can put his hand up and stake a claim to that number one jersey, and really show what he’s all about at international level.
"He has a lot to offer, I love the way he carries the ball and that ability around the park is something a lot of people want to see. He has a job to do at set-piece but he’ll be looking to carry as much ball as he can against Argentina and I cannot wait to see the outcome."
Joe Launchbury - lock
"Launchbury will be really keen to get back on the pitch in an England shirt and he’ll be looking for two positive performances.
"He was brilliant in the Old Mutual Wealth Series in November and a stand-out in the RBS 6 Nations Championship – expect him to be at the heart of everything England do upfront. "A consistently high level performer..."
"He has time and again proved himself as one of England’s best and most influential players, and will be key to a lot of things come Saturday.
"Launchbury has played a lot of rugby this season, and in a relatively young and inexperienced England team, he stands out as one of the senior guys. He will have a role to play in integrating those uncapped guys into international rugby.
"A consistently high-level performer, Eddie Jones and co will be hoping his form continues this weekend."
Henry Slade - outside centre
"Henry Slade has slightly struggled with form recently, but be in no doubt, he is a great talent.
"Expect him to interchange with Alex Lozowski at 12, and I’d love to see him provide a left foot option and get out for George Ford when they’re looking to gain territory.
"As well as being an astute distributor, Slade is a real threat in attack. He’s a strong runner and playing at thirteen gives him an opportunity to show it.
"Saturday is a great chance for him to show what he can do whilst others are away, Eddie sees something in him, he just has to go out there and play."
