Last year's launch of the Red Roses has been shortlisted for the 2017 #BeAGameChangerAwards organised by the Women’s Sport Trust.
The awards, now in their third year, are designed to showcase incredible achievements across women’s sport. An expert panel of leading influencers in women’s sport selected the finalists and voting is now open to decide the winners.
The RFU unveiled the Red Roses in October 2016, with the campaign designed to raise the profile of the England Women team and create an identity for supporters to get behind.
The launch, during Women's Sports Week, came at the beginning of an impressive season for the Red Roses. Record crowds came to watch the Red Roses take on New Zealand in November and the team went on to win the Six Nations Grand Slam.
The launch came as the RFU outlined plans to double the number of women and girls playing rugby by 2021 as well as anouncing plans this year to launch a new domestic competition.
The season will culminate with the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland.
