Twickenham is approximately six miles from London Heathrow, 20 miles from London City Airport, 30 miles from London Gatwick and 40 miles from London Luton. If you are travelling from London, you may find the Transport for London journey planner useful.

By Train/London Underground
The nearest train station is Twickenham, which is a short walk from the stadium. Turn right out of the station, and then continue down Whitton Road. Regular trains run to Twickenham from London Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Reading, Ascot and Windsor & Eton Riverside.
Other stations in the vicinity of the stadium are Whitton, St Margarets and Hounslow.
The London Overground service also runs from Richmond to North London and Stratford.
The nearest Underground stations are Hounslow East for the Piccadilly Line, and Richmond for the District Line.
Travel advice: limited step-free access at Twickenham station
We have been advised by South Western Railway that there will be no step-free access to or from Platforms 4 and 5 at Twickenham station (fast trains to London and services to Reading) during special events at Twickenham until December 2017. This is due to station improvement works.
For full step-free access, passengers are advised to travel to Whitton. Additional station staff will be available at the station to assist passengers with their onward journey.
Alternatively, to exit Twickenham station during special events, passengers are advised to board the following services at London Waterloo, Vauxhall or Clapham Junction:
For Saturday events:
- London Waterloo via Kingston or London Waterloo via Chiswick service.
For Sunday events
- London Waterloo via Kingston
For all return journeys from Twickenham to Windsor and Eton Riverside, Reading, Kingston and Chiswick, passengers requiring assistance should change at Richmond.

Customers travelling by train for special events at Twickenham Stadium are advised that extended waiting times of up to 45 minutes to exit/enter the station are expected.
By RFU Shuttle Bus
On all event days with an attendance of more than 35,000, there is an RFU shuttle bus service between Richmond Station and the Stadium and Hounslow East and the stadium.
The service is free and the buses return to Richmond and Hounslow after the match.
Pre match the services run from the A316 Pools in the Park in Richmond and Hounslow East station, Kingsley Road in Hounslow.
Post match the Richmond service departs from Rugby Road adjacent to the stadium and the Hounslow service departs from Whitton Dene to the north of the stadium.
The buses 281, 267, 481, 681 and H20 each have regular services which pass close to the stadium.
Alternatively take the R68, R70, 33, 110, 290, H22 or 490 to Twickenham town centre – the stadium is a 10-15 minute walk.
Twickenham Stadium is on the northern side of the A316 into London. From the M25, exit J12 onto the M3. This becomes the A316 and Twickenham Stadium is off the Whitton Road roundabout next to the Lexus/Toyota car dealership. From London, turn right off the A316 at Whitton Road roundabout. Please arrive EARLY to avoid congestion and temporary road closures prior to the event
A controlled parking zone operates over an area of approximately one mile around the stadium. Fines and towing are enforced in this area, including Sundays. To pre-book parking at Twickenham please visit www.englandrugby.com to book online, or download a booking form.
Park & Ride
We are pleased to offer a park & ride facility from Hounslow Civic Centre (postcode TW3 4DN) to Twickenham Stadium for England matches and the NFL games.
This service offers fans an added option for getting to and from the stadium conveniently via accessible shuttle bus.
The service will enhance final movements into Twickenham, helping to reduce traffic and waiting time to access the home of England Rugby.
Park & ride tickets must be pre-booked. Please book your space at the park & ride site now as spaces are limited. It costs £20 per vehicle.
The shuttle bus runs every 5 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to the stadium and also picks up and drops off at Hounslow Central Station.
For England matches:
The park & ride site opens three hours before kick-off and for three hours after the final whistle.
- For Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams on 22 October, the park & ride site opens from 2pm and post-game until midnight
- For Minnesota Vikings v Cleveland Browns on 29 October, the park & ride site opens four hours before kick-off (1.30pm) and for four hours post
Taxi and Private Hire vehicles
For major events at the stadium, a dedicated drop off and collection point for taxis and private hire vehicles has been allocated in The Twickenham Stoop, Langhorn Drive, Twickenham.
This is regulated by the Local Authority, TFL and is stewarded by the RFU. It is free of charge.
Vehicles should not illegally park in the surrounding streets waiting to collect clients as they will be subject to Local Authority Fixed Penalty Notices
Cycle parking facilities are available next to the Ticket Office in the south east corner of the stadium.
