GET FIT FOR RUGBY

Devised by the Rugby Football Union’s Head of Sport Science and Medicine, Mark Bennett and global fitness brand Virgin Active, ‘Fit for Rugby’ is a brand new training programme designed to enable you to train like the England Rugby team and maximise your performance on the pitch.

The 6 and 12 week programmes are designed for men and women across all levels of ability, and will help you to improve your skills or generally enhance your physical and mental wellbeing.

Follow the steps below and get Fit for Rugby, with fitness video tutorials led by your England Rugby heroes.

Get the Training Programme

Download the Programme Tracker relevant for your ability level for a summary of the training programme. The programme is divided in to three blocks and features six key training pillars: balance & conditioning, strength & power, speed & acceleration, agility & mobility, power endurance & stamina and core strength.

The England men’s and women’s senior and sevens teams have created video tutorials of each exercise to further guide you and give tips on how to perform each exercise correctly and safely.
