Sale scrum half Fergus Warr, or Gus, began his rugby journey as early as the age of four at Winnington Park RFC.
He made his Premiership debut aged just 18 on the opening day of the 2018/19 season against Harlequins with rugby running in the blood for the Warr family. Dad Mark played for England schoolboys, England universities, as well as Sale, while brother Harry has represented Scotland at age-grade levels.
His sister Isla is also talented at sport representing Scotland in gymnastics.
Warr cites his Premiership debut, signing a senior academy contract with Sale and playing in the Scottish school cup final as his proudest rugby moment and credits Don Caskie (school coach at Dollar Academy) as well as academy coach Warren Spragg for giving him a good understanding of the game.
He made his England U20 debut against Scotland as a replacement in the 2019 Six Nations, also playing against Junior Springboks in April 2019.
An Arsneal fan, Warr enjoys holidaying in Majorca while Peaky Blinder is his favourite TV show. His favourite food is Chinese and he also enjoys playing Fifa or Fortnite.
If he had to describe himself in three words, Warr would choose “resilient, determined and thoughtful.”
