Manchester-born Luke James began his rugby journey at Manchester Rugby Club, aged just five and he credits Simon Ogdon at the club for giving him a good understanding of the game.
Luke was picked up by Sale’s academy at 13 and made his Premiership debut away at Saracens in 2017/18 and can play both centre and full back.
His brother Sam James also plays for Sale and Luke says his Premiership debut and first European try are his proudest rugby moments to date.
Luke made his England U20s debut against Junior Springboks in 2018, replicating that a year later, winning his second cap against South Africa in April 2019.
He supports Manchester City and other than rugby enjoys playing basketball.
Turkey is his favourite holiday destination, and steak his go-to meal.
