Loughborough University student Emma joins the England Sevens programme for the 2018/19 season having progressed through the England Women pathway.
Originally from York, she represented England Women U20 twice in 2018, and played in the 2017 School Games finals, where she recognised her own rugby potential when playing against the best in her age group.
Emma, who attended Easingwold Secondary School and Loughborough College, this year takes time out from her BSc in Sport to play professional rugby and has already gained a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
She grew up playing for Castleford RUFC, where her father John is junior club coach and made her debut in the Tyrrells Premier 15s for Loughborough Lightening in the opening game of last season. Her brother Dan plays for York RUFC.
Highlights of her fledgling sevens career include representing Great Britain in the European Sevens Championship (U18s), while she was nominated 2017/18 Sports Personality of the Year at Loughborough College.
