Carys Williams first represented England in March 2012 when she made her U20 debut against France, going on to represent the development side four times.
She returned to the England set up when named in Simon Middleton’s 2018 Quilter Internationals squad after catching the eye in the Tyrrells Premier 15s where she plays for local side Loughborough Lightning.
Born and raised in Derby, Carys attended John Port School and Moulton College before studying Sport and Leisure, Psychology and Education at Nottingham Trent University. During her studies at Moulton, she represented the college AASE Rugby Academy.
She made her rugby debut aged 12 for Burton RFC, the club her brother Dewi still plays for, before moving to Lichfield RFC where she played for 10 years before joining Loughborough Lightning in the Tyrrells Premier 15s. Carys spent 2016 in Australia, where she was named player of the season at Waverley RFC in Sydney.
Williams then added to her international rugby experience spending the summer of 2017 at St Albert RFC, near Edmonton, Canada.
