At the age of just 18 and with only a handful of senior matches under her belt, Ellie Kildunne scored a try on her debut when she came off the bench against Canada in the autumn of 2017.
Her natural speed saw her cross twice on her first start in England’s next match where she combined her time in camp with keeping up to date with studying her A Levels of Biology, PE and Geography.
Ellie’s rugby career has its roots in rugby league, where growing up in West Yorkshire she started at Keighley Albion before stints at West Park Leeds and Castleford.
She then joined Tyrrells Premier 15s outfit Gloucester-Hartpury for the 2017/18 campaign.
Ellie’s impressive performances in that inaugural Tyrrells Premier 15s season led to five more Red Roses starts in the 2018 Women’s Six Nations.
Those five starts yielded five tries, including a double against Wales, helping England to a second-place finish in the Six Nations table.
A captain of Yorkshire at U18 level, Ellie also represented the England U18 side at sevens where they were crowned European champions in 2017.
