Army 29 v 20 Navy
29 April 2017
The 2017 Army Navy match, the 100th time the fixture had been held, saw another record crowd (81577) and the attendance of Prince Harry as Patron of the Match Chairty, Invictus Games Foundation, and an Army win 29-20.
The Army who controlled possession and territory from the start took advantage of a Navy transgression at the ruck to open the scoring. Shortly after the Army put away another try to put the Navy under increasing pressure. They responded with a penalty after pressure forced the Army to make a mistake.
The Army held a 23-10 lead with twenty five minutes to play. Despite a Navy try in the second half they did not manage to close the gap and the Army clinched victory for the seventh straight year.
