Head of England Sevens Simon Amor has named his 12-man squad for the second leg of the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series in Marcoussis, France on 30 June-1 July.
Streamed live on RugbyEurope.tv, England will play in Pool A where they will face Spain, Poland and Ireland on day one.
Will Edwards will captain an England side that will be made up of seven members of the squad that won silver at the finale of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Paris earlier this month, along with a number of players from the England Sevens academy.
“This is a key period for us as we continue to build towards the Rugby World Cup Sevens next month,” said Simon Amor.
“The priority for us with this tournament is for our senior players to play some competitive rugby to ensure the squad is in the best position it can be for San Francisco.
“The level of competition in this European Series is high so this will also be a great development opportunity for our younger players, who will learn a great deal from playing alongside the more experienced members of our squad, as well as against some strong opposition.”
Marcoussis will be followed by the England Sevens’ home tournament at the Mitsubishi Motors Exeter 7s on 7-8 July which will be the last tournament before the Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco on 20-22 July.
