- Francois Louw was banned for a high tackle
- Bath's appeal has been dismissed
An RFU Disciplinary panel has upheld a two-week ban on Bath's Francois Louw for a dangerous tackle after the West Country club lodged an appeal.
Louw received the ban after carrying out a dangerous tackle - contrary to law 10.4(e) - on Charlie Mulchrone of Harlequins, during Bath's 22-12 Aviva Premiership win last weekend.
The panel, comprised of Jeremy Summers (chairman), John Vale and Nick Dark dismissed the appeal.
“The appeal panel considered detailed submissions from Bath’s representative, however were satisfied that the decision arrived at by the initial panel was a decision that a reasonable body could have come to,” the RFU Disciplinary panel said.
Louw will be free to play again on Tuesday, 7th March.
