The England Counties U18 squad is set to be confirmed this month following two divisional matches due to take place on Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 February.
The final selection weekend will see teams from London and South East, South West, Midlands and North divisions play each other.
The squad of 23 will then travel to Ireland to play their U18 Clubs & Schools team in a two-match series on Wednesday, 12 and Friday, 15 April.
“It is a difficult process choosing that final 23,” said team manager David Penberthy.
“Our job is to make sure every player has an equal chance and then we make our decisions from there.”
This year the team will be coached by Giles Heagerty, the director of rugby at Macclesfield RFC, supported by assistant coach Chris Brown and assistant manager Andy Rikard.
‘A hugely proud moment’
In last year’s tri-series England lost to both France and Ireland in close defeats, but Penberthy says they can bounce back this season.
"Both of those losses were very close, decided in the last few minutes of the match and we played some brilliant rugby. We're confident we can come away with a good few victories this year.
"For many of those selected, representing England Counties will be the pinnacle of their rugby careers so it is a hugely proud moment for them and us."
