England men sevens trio Ethan Waddleton, Will Muir and Tom Bowen have all been shortlisted by their team mates for the player of the year award.
The England men’s sevens player of the year award is presented to the outstanding player from the 2018/19 season, as voted by the men's squad. The winner will be announced at the 2019 RPA awards on 8 May.
As one of the most eagerly-anticipated events in the rugby calendar, the RPA Awards recognise and celebrate the very best of the best in rugby.
Taking place at Twickenham Stadium, the event will see a host of awards announced, including the coveted Players' Player and Young Player of the Year, as voted for by the players.
“This is a big honour to be nominated by my peers for the second season in a row," said Waddleton. "I cherish every moment I get to pull on the England sevens shirt and I must thank my teammates for the great support.”
Will Muir added: “This has come as such a shock and I’m so honoured to be nominated. My teammates are an incredible bunch of lads who have guided me at every stage this season and I have learnt so much from them on and off the field. I couldn’t ask for a better team to be a part of.”
And Tom Bowen commented on how much it means to him to be recognised by his team mates: “It’s always nice to gain recognition for how you are playing but it means so much more coming from my teammates. I love playing for England and it’s a privilege to have the support of my peers.”
