- England Counties U20 finish tour unbeaten
- The side won both games in Bucharest
England Counties U20s completed back-to-back wins over Romania U23s in their two match tour with the team following up their 29-6 win in the first test with a 41-22 victory in the second.
The first match saw Tom Knight, Matt Gallagher, captain Sam Stott, Matt Harrison and Noah Ferdinand all going over for tries with Luke Bouchier adding two conversions.
The second test was a much closer affair. Romania's sizeable pack caused issues for England with just four points separating the two sides.
In the second half England’s fitness began to pay dividends and they eventually came out winners thanks to two tries from lock Matas Jurevicius, Matt Harrison, Matt Gallagher, Noah Ferdinand, Tom Knight and Rhys Litterick, Bouchier added two conversions, with Harrison the other.
“The coaching team of Steve Salvin, Lou Meadows, together with the support staff, Ralph Mitchell and Katy Williams meant the squad were exposed to high levels of coaching and systems, it is s credit to the team that after only a few days together and a couple of light sessions between tests, that the team played so well," said team manager Chris Brookes.
"The Romanian RFU staff and team were a credit to the country, all the squad had a great experience and we superbly looked after by the host union," added Brookes.
"We are already looking forward to visiting again in 2021 after returning to Georgia next season."
