- Michael DcDonald's try for Amersham & Chiltern named as winner
- The club will now receive £1,000 worth of Samsung products
- Samsung Try of the Season will launch soon
Michael McDonald’s incredible solo effort for Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Club has been selected as the final Samsung Try of the Month of the season.
The fly half picked up a loose ball before jinking his way past six defenders to touch down.
“I think he shows great vision,” sad England and British and Irish Lion centre Jonathan Joseph.
“He sidesteps one guy after seeing his shoulders were turned too much and then shows great leg power and a left foot step. He then had enough pace to go over in the corner.”
For McDonald, the try and prize is a nice way to finish what has been a tricky season for the club.
Amersham & Chiltern won just one game in National Three this season so McDonald said he was pleased to finish the season on a high.
“For the club to win is great and for me personally it’s fantastic that it was chosen by a player like Joseph because I try and do a lot of what he does on the pitch.”
Over the course of the season a legend of the game has judged the competition, with the winning club will winning £1,000 worth of Samsung products. The person who enters the try wins the latest Samsung handset.
The competition has now finished for the 2016/17 season.
