Welcome to HomeTurf, the Rugby Football Union’s community relations programme.
Our relationship with the local community is of the utmost importance to the RFU and we have a comprehensive programme in place, which includes sponsorship, a residents’ ticket ballot, an education partnership and match day support.
We aim to ensure that our impact on the local area is a positive one and that as our neighbours, you will benefit from our contribution to the local community.
Home Turf is the RFU programme for keeping in touch with the local community around Twickenham. We are very fortunate to have the world’s biggest rugby stadium located in this part of London and we want to be good neighbours.
The RFU undertakes a considerable degree of work in the local communities around the stadium, from Isleworth, Hounslow and Feltham in the north and west, to Whitton, Twickenham and Richmond in the south and east.
We provide an annual sponsorship fund for local organisations, run a programme of junior rugby engagement called KickStarts in local primary and secondary schools and work with our regional development staff to encourage rugby development in universities and colleges.
We also provide rooms at the Stadium for local organisations to meet, and work with local councils and organisations to maximise the benefit to local businesses of rugby matches.
We deliver the Rugby Post free to local residents, and you can follow us on Twitter @rfuhometurf and on Facebook for regular updates on what is happening in the local area and matchday announcements. [PHOTO src="1332514" size="mediumLandscape" align="right"]
On match days we ensure that the security and policing are responsive to residents’ needs and feed their opinions into high level decision making processes to minimise disruption as far as possible.
On these pages you can find answers to many of the questions which you may have around the Residents Ticket Ballot, Matchday road closures and information, and some of the good causes which we support.
