Alfie Longstaff
Versatile forward Alfie Longstaff began his rugby journey at Sandal RUFC and later joined the Yorkshire Rugby Academy. Predominantly a hooker but capable in the back row, he then joined Sale Sharks and has spent time as a dual registered player, representing both Sale FC and Preston Grasshoppers. This season he made his senior Sale Sharks debut in the Premiership Rugby Cup before turning out for the club against Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership. He represented England U18 and U19 and recently played for England U20 against Wales and Georgia. He was recently selected in Mark Mapletoft’s squad for the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship.

The hooker is a specialist forward, playing an essential role in the middle of the front row of the scrum, hooking the ball back with the foot. Renowned for being strong and powerful around the park, they are also required to have accurate throwing skills for lineouts.
