Seb Atkinson
Inside centre Seb Atkinson came through the Worcester Warriors ranks and made his Gallagher Premiership debut in 2022 as a replacement against Sale Sharks. He moved to Gloucester later that year and has become an important cog for the cherry & whites. For example, he scored a hattrick as Gloucester beat Bristol Bears 53-28, earning himself the player of the match award. Atkinson was called into Steve Borthwick’s training squad ahead of England XV v France XV.

The inside centre, who wears 12, and outside centre, wearing 13, have similar roles but often specialise. The 12 becomes first receiver if the fly half is unavailable and is generally larger, able to tackle big opponents, take the lead and distribute the ball for tactical advantage. The outside centre is robust and able to step around defenders at pace, adaptable and with the speed of a wing.
