Summer tour preview: Argentina v England

England will face Argentina on Saturday 12 July at 20:40 BST at Estadio Bicentenario in the second Test of their summer tour of Argentina & the USA.

      Tour Diary

      England Team

Steve Borthwick’s England return to action against Los Pumas following an impressive 12-35 win over Argentina.

The team will be looking to back up the result that saw them produce a resolute defensive performance, particularly in the first half, before scoring four tries in the second half.

After the showing in the first Test, Borthwick has made only one change to the match day 23, bringing in Luke Northmore to replace the injured Henry Slade for his Test debut.

This will be England's final game of the two-Test series in Argentina before they travel to Washington D.C. to face the USA.

England U20 Men will also continue their 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship campaign on Monday when they face Wales in the fifth-place play-off.

The reigning champions beat Australia in a 36-33 thriller on Wednesday, but narrowly missed out on the semi-finals. Their game can be watched on RugbyPass TV.

      Keep your eye on…

A youthful squad. With so many players representing the Lions this summer, this is an opportunity for the younger squad members to stake their claim, whether they are capped or not. Get to know the 10 uncapped players here.

Midfield make-up. Of the centres selected by Borthwick to tour, only Henry Slade has been capped and Slade has been ruled out through injury. Slade's midfield partner against Argentina, Seb Atkinson, was winning his first cap and will now line up alongside the uncapped Harlequin, Luke Northmore.

Roebuck's running. Roebuck scored two fantastic tries in the second half against Los Pumas, taking his international tally to four tries from his first five caps. The Sale wing will be keen to add to his already impressive record.

Back-row battle. On Saturday, England's back row of Ben Curry, Sam Underhill and Tom Willis put in a brilliant performance to stifle the Argentina attack. Willis' carrying brought England gainline ball, while his partners flew around the pitch in defence.
