Archie McParland
Archie McParland joined the Northampton Academy as a fly half at the age of 15 before transitioning to a scrum half. He made his professional debut for the Saints against London Irish in the Premiership Rugby Cup, in turn becoming the club's youngest ever player in the professional era (17y, 222d). Previously capped internationally for England at U18 and U19 level, McParland was part of the England U20s side that secured the Six Nations title in 2024. He was also recently selected as part of Mark Mapletoft's squad for the 2025 U20 Six Nations.

The scrum half, or number 9, links forwards and backs, taking the ball from the scrum or lineout, and putting pressure on the opposition nine. With a kicking armoury, man management and decision skills, the nine knows when to make breaks or to pass.
