The 10 uncapped players on England’s summer tour of Argentina & the USA
Get to know the 10 uncapped players named in Steve Borthwick’s England squad ahead of the team’s tour of Argentina & the USA. England play Argentina in a two-Test series before facing the USA in a one-off Test.
Charlie Atkinson
Atkinson began his professional rugby career with Wasps and made his debut for the club at just 18 years old, quickly becoming a mainstay in the squad.
He came through the England age grade pathway and, now plying his trade at Gloucester, the fly half has also started each of England A’s last three games, notching up 12 points from the tee.
This season the 23-year-old helped Gloucester to fifth place in the Gallagher Premiership, just two points outside the play-offs.

Seb Atkinson
Inside centre Atkinson came through the Worcester Warriors ranks and made his Gallagher Premiership debut in 2022 as a replacement against Sale Sharks.
He moved to Gloucester later that year and has become an important cog for the cherry & whites, scoring a brilliant hat-trick as Gloucester beat Bristol Bears 53-28.
Atkinson started in the midfield alongside Henry Slade for the England XV v France XV game and impressed throughout, setting up Joe Carpenter with a powerful break.
Oscar Beard
An outside centre by trade, Beard made his Gallagher Premiership debut for Harlequins on the wing against Sale Sharks in 2021. That same season, he became a Premiership champion as Harlequins defeated Exeter Chiefs in a thrilling final.
Beard was included in training squads for the 2024 and 2025 Guinness Men’s Six Nations but is yet to win his first Test cap. However, Beard was selected for England A against Portugal and scored a try in the fixture – a clever line followed by a well-timed step saw him cross the line untouched.
The 23-year-old also played against Australia A and came on as a replacement for England XV against France XV at Allianz Stadium.

Joe Carpenter
Sale Sharks’ Carpenter made his first XV debut against La Rochelle in 2020 in the Champions Cup and has since cemented himself as a regular in Alex Sanderson's Sale outfit.
Deft of hand and fleet of foot, the full back was named in Borthwick's squad for the 2024 Summer Series tour of Japan and New Zealand.
He didn’t play during the tour, but this season the 23-year-old helped Sale to a place in the Gallagher Premiership play-offs and scored in England XV’s narrow defeat to France XV.
Arthur Clark
After playing his junior rugby with Stow-on-the-Wold, Clark became an integral member of the Hartpury AASE team during his second year at College, earning him an England U18 call-up, and ultimately a place in the Gloucester Rugby Academy.
Excelling at England U20 level, he helped the side to an U20 Six Nations Grand Slam in 2021 and played a part in every game, including playing the full 80 minutes against Ireland, Wales and Italy.
This season he has made nine appearances for Gloucester and was also part of the England A side that beat Australia A, having started the fixture alongside Hugh Tizard in the second-row.

Emmanuel Iyogun
Northampton Saints prop Iyogun began life as a back row, but switched to prop and represented England U20 in 2020.
Aged 19 he was named in the Saints team for their East Midlands derby with Leicester Tigers and played 55 minutes as a replacement in the narrow 28-24 loss.
Four years later he became a Premiership winner as Saints beat Bath in the final. This season he has played for England A against Australia A, as well as reaching the European Champions Cup final with Northampton.
Will Muir
Bath wing Muir has represented England Rugby in the sevens code, making 28 appearances. He travelled to San Francisco for the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament and was named 2019 England Men's Sevens Player of the Year. Three years later, Muir transferred to the 15-player game, signing with Bath ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Since then, he has helped Bath overhaul their fortunes as they rose up the table. This season they won a treble of trophies, including a first Premiership title in 29 years, and Muir was on hand to score nine tries for the team.

Luke Northmore
Harlequins centre Northmore began his rugby journey at the age of 15, when he started playing for Tavistock RFC.
He joined Harlequins in 2019 having graduated from Cardiff Met University. He made his club debut the same year, before going on to play in the Gallagher Premiership final against Exeter in 2021, which Harlequins won.
Injuries have hampered his playing time in recent years, but he now finds himself back in the reckoning for England.
Max Ojomoh
The son of former Bath Rugby and England flanker Steve, Ojomoh followed in his father's footsteps and joined the West Country club in 2019 after years in the junior academy setup.
Capped internationally at U18 and U20 level for England, Ojomoh helped Bath to their first Premiership title in 29 years during the 2024-25 season and scored a try in both the semi-final and final.
He has played for England A on two occasions, first against Portugal, where he crossed for a try, and latterly against Australia A.
Guy Pepper
Bath flanker Pepper started his professional rugby career at Newcastle Falcons, where he was nominated for breakthrough player of the season in 2024.
Pepper moved to Bath ahead of the 2024/25 season and helped the club to a first Premiership title in 29 years, as well as a treble of trophies.
In the Premiership final against Leicester Tigers, an outstanding performance earned the 22-year-old the player of the match award and he was subsequently named at openside flanker for England XV v France XV.
