Aiden Ainsworth-Cave
Aiden Ainsworth-Cave initially joined the Northampton Saints Academy at Under-14 level, and is currently in his first season for the club's senior academy. He played for Bedford School and Bedford Junior Blues and returned to Under-18s action at the close of the 2023/24 season after a year out of action through injury, playing in Saints’ final Academy League game at home to Newcastle Falcons and then in the Final. Ainsworth-Cave has also won international honours, having represented England Under-18s in the 2024 Six Nations festival. Primarily a second-row but capable of playing back-row, he has already made two appearances for England U20 against Cambridge and Bath United and was recently selected in Mark Mapletoft’s squad for the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship.

The second row, or locks, are usually among the biggest physical presences on a team, required to provide power in the scrum, a jumper in the lineout and a big ball-carrying option. Renowned for their physicality, work rate and mobility.
