England U20 squad to face Wales in 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship
England U20 Men’s head coach Mark Mapletoft and assistant coach Andy Titterrell have confirmed their squad to face Wales in the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship.
The fifth-place semi-final takes place at Viadana’s Stadio Luigi Zaffanella on Monday 14 July (14:30 BST kick-off). The match will be streamed live and free on RugbyPass TV in the UK and Ireland.
England beat Australia in their last match thanks to a last-minute Ben Coen penalty and will face a Wales side who beat England in the Six Nations, but Mapletoft’s side got their revenge in a 47-14 win in the build-up to the U20 Championship.
Lock Tom Burrow comes back into the starting lineup as captain, with first starts awarded to flanker Seb Kelly and prop Ollie Streeter.
Campbell Ridl moves to left wing while Jack Bracken, Nick Lilley and Will Knight return to the back line.
Junior Kpoku has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an injury sustained in England’s win over Australia. Reggie Hammick has been called up as cover.

Titterrell said: “Wales are a team we’ve faced twice already this year but as with every match, we approach it with a clean slate and the utmost determination.
“The attitude from our players in training has been relentless and working within our framework, we want them to be daring and brave on the pitch.
“Despite the rollercoaster of emotions in recent days, we as a brotherhood still have our own story to write in this competition.”
